Half treble crochet (uk) / Half double crochet (us)
This is a tutorial for the half treble crochet (HTC or HTR) to us brits, and the half double crochet (HDC) to others.
Again, I'm must stress, that if you are new crochet and haven't already read and practised the Slipknot and chain stitch, then please do so before continuing.
To start, create and slipknot and chain 10.
1) Yarn over hook, then insert hook in 3 chain from hook. To see how to correctly insert your hook into the chain stitch please check out my DC/SC tutorial.
You should have 3 loops on your hook. (see image below).
2) yarn over hook.
3) draw yarn through all 3 loops.
That's 1 half treble crochet.
Now continue along the rest of the chain stitches. Ch2 and turn.
