Teeny tiny Mr pig! Free pattern

Good evening all!

So I fancied making something teeny tiny the other day. So I got out my crochet thread collection, and 1.25mm hook and looked at all the different colours I had. Unfortunately I still don't have black or yellow in thread, even though I've got a lot of colours.

My new ball of glittery pink, and the memory of making my nephew a pig for his farm, inspired me to make a teeny tiny pig.

Hes less then 1 inch big!

Anyhow here's the pattern.

Please don't forget to share and pin this pattern with fellow artists, because I want to keep doing this and sharing my patterns for free with you!

You will need

1.25mm hook

no 10 crochet thread in pink

either crochet or embroidery thread in black

sewing needle

yarn needle

As with all my patterns, they're written in uk terms.

This pattern is worked in the round, no need to join rounds, so make sure you use a stitch marker to mark your 1st or last stitch of every round.

2Dc = 2Dc in the same stitch

Dc 2= 1 Dc in the next 2 stitches

2Dc 2= 2Dc in the next 2 stitches

s/s= slip stitch

The body

Mr 6

  1. 2Dc 6 (12)

  2. (2Dc, Dc)x6 (18)

  3. (2Dc, Dc 2)x6 (24)

  4. Dc 24

  5. Dc 24

  6. Dc 24

  7. Dc 24

  8. Dc 24

  9. (2Tog, Dc 2)x6 (18)

  10. (2Tog, Dc)x6 (12)

  11. 2Tog 6 (6)

F/o, weave the tail in and out of the front loops of the last round, pull tight, and hide the tail inside the body.

The tail

Create a slipknot on your hook, take the body of the pig, and join with a s/s in the center where you finished making the body.

Ch6

4Hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 4Hdc in each ch across, s/s where you joined the tail to begin with, f/o.

Use the tails to further secure the tail and hide inside the pig.

Snout and legs

These are quite fiddly to make due to their small size. It is easier to not turn your work the right way out until you've finished the 2nd round, if you pull the loop of the last stitch out big (before joining the last round), then using the other end of your crochet hook, turn out the right way then join the last row with a s/s.

Make 5

Ch 1 at the beginning of every round, join each round with a slip stitch into the 1st stitch not, the ch 1

Mr 4

  1. 2Dc 4

  2. Dc 8 f/o

Sew 1 to the front of the pig, where you made the MR of the pigs body, then 4 on the bottom. You can use pins to pin each leg in place. Also, because they're so small, theres no need to stuff them. If your using bigger wool to make a bigger pig, you may need to add a little stuffing.

The using the black thread, sew 2 vertical lines on the snout, then 2 small circles for the eyes, or you can thread some black thread through the stitch, that you want the eye to be places, and tie a knot as close to the pig as possible, secure with a dab of glue and cut the tails.

Ears

Decide where you would likes to be placed, then insert your hook under that stitch, so that your hook goes through the top of the pig. Through 1 stitch only, from front to back.

Draw up a loop, from your thread, then ch 2, tr into same st, ch 2 join with a slip stitch, all in the same stitch going through the pig. Sew in the tails. Repeat for the other ear. :)

Don't forget
