Flowertop scratch mitts

Hello and welcome to the final instalment for the flower top hat, booties and scratch mitt set. Please be aware it is 3-6 months.

As with the booties, there will not be many photos of this project, because of my rubbish old school smart phone (iphone 3g)

What you will need

3.5mm hook

1.25mm hook

dk green

dk light pink (same green and pink that you used to make the hat.)

crochet thread no 8 (10 will also work), same shade of pink as the dk

yarn needle

measuring tape.

as with all my patterns, it is written in uk terms, but I do have a handy conversion chart

2Dc = 2 Dc in the same stitch

Dc 2 = 1 Dc in the next 2 stitches

2Dc 2 = 2 Dc in the same stitch and in the next st.

2Tog = 2 together

sk 2 st= skip 2 stitches

This project is worked in the round, Ch1 at the beginning of each round, and join with a s/s into the 1st stitch, not the ch1!

If you have any problems or need some help, please drop me a message. :)

Green top

Using the 3.5mm hook and green wool.

ch32

!) Htr in 3rd st from hook, and in each ch across (30 including the ch2 at the begining of row)

2) ch 2 turn, Htr 29 (30 inc ch2)

3) turn, (sk2 st, 7Tr, sk 1 st, s/s) repeat to end of the row

4) s/s down the side of your work down to the starting chain, and turn your work upside down, so that you are now working in the other half of the starting ch.

s/s in 1st ch *(Htr,Tr,Dtr, P, Tr,Htr, s/s)all in the next ch, s/s in the next 2 ch* repeat from * to * all the way across the chain. F/o

Sew in any tails.

Sew the green top to the pink bottom using the same dark green you used in the flower-top hat.

Make sure you leave the the top 2 rows of the top above the pink bottom.

Pink tie cord flower chain

Using the 1.25mm hook, pink crochet thread and a measuring tape.

Chain around 8-9 inches (you can make the chain as long as you would like, just make sure that the length is sufficient enough to fully go round the top of the scratch mitt without pulling it tight.)

The flower - In 3rd ch from hook *(Tr, Dtr, Tr, ch 2 ,s/s, ch 2)x5 all 5 in the same ch* (don't chain the last ch 2 of the last petal)

Dc in each ch across,

Before we make the 2nd flower, we need to thread the chain through the holes in the top row of the green top, (where you placed your 7Trs). I decided to thread it before, as I didn't think the flowers would be able to fit through the holes. However, If you wish to do so then you can. :)

Pull the loop on your hook pretty big, and thread it though a needle,

The weave it in and out of the holes the 7Tr's made in the top row of the green top.

(I also cut the thread leaving a pretty long tail, sufficient enough to make the last flower. However, you can just leave the thread as is, and thread it through the holes with the chain. Pulling it through as you work. Cut it when you've finished, then pulling the thread still attached to ball back out of the holes

Once threaded, pull the needle off the loop, pull the loop back down and put back on your hook, s/s down the side of the last Dc and into the bottom of the chain where the last Dc was made.

In that ch space, make the 2nd flower the same as before, but instead of 3rd ch from hook, ch 2. F/o and sewing the tails.

If you wish to share this pattern, then please do not copy and paste, just link back to me. :)

And there it is, the full set. I hope you've enjoyed making them and if you haveyou have social media or friends who would love this, then please share my work.

Pin it, facebook, twitter, whatever platform you have. :)

I enjoy making patterns and love it when others enjoy them too!

Many thanks xx
